Saganing Traditional Pow Wow

The Saginaw Chippewa Indian Tribe’s “Honoring Saganing Traditional Pow Wow” will be held:

 

Saturday, June 25th 11am-Dusk

Sunday, June 26th 11am-Dusk

 

Grand Entry at 1pm each day at the Pow Wow Reservation Grounds, next to Saganing Eagles Landing Casino & Hotel on Worth Road in Standish. Native traders and food vendors and rustic camping available. Daily entry $3, weekend pass $5, kids $1.

Kirtland's Warbler Tours

The AuSable Valley Audubon hosts the free Kirtland's Warbler Tours in Oscoda Pine River Management Area. Meet at The Camp Inn Lodge, 3111 U.S. 23 in Oscoda at 7:30am.The Tours run til noon. Space is limited so call 739-2021 for reservatrions.

USDA FOREST SERVICE, MIO RANGER DISTRICT OPEN HOUS

In a Celebration of the 50th Anniversary of the Enactment of the Wild & Scenic Rivers and National Trails System, the USDA Forest Service, Mio Ranger District of the Huron-Manistee National Forests will be holding a free Open House. The public is invited to join us on Saturday, June 9, 2018, from 9am until 2pm. Visit with each of the divisions of the Forest Service and see what they do. Timber, Recreation, Wildlife, Heritage and Fire will each have representatives available to answer your questions and give you and your family some hands on experiences. Special appearances by the Forest Supervisor, District Ranger, Archeologist and Smokey Bear! Please join us at the Huron-Manistee National Forests, Mio Ranger District, 107 McKinley Rd, Mio, MI. Barton City Kid's Fishing Activities

It's Free Fishing Weekend and the U.S. Forest Service and Michigan DNR are hosting kid's fishing activities at the Jewell Lake boat launch in Barton City Saturday, June 9th from 11am-3pm. For more information call 362-8961.

East Tawas Art Stroll

From 4:00PM to 8:00PM

The Tawas Bay Art Gallery will host their 8th Annual Art Stroll on Newman Street in East Tawas Saturday, June 9th 4-8pm. Artists will be located at businesses along with refreshments. The Stroll begins at the Gallery or Village Chocolatier. Pick up your passport, fill it out and be registered to win a painting by award winning artist Betty Fahselt Senter. A silent auction is also going on this week leading up to the Stroll. Proceeds benefit art programs in the area schools. For more information call 362-5613.

Bike Night

The American Legion Riders Post 274 will be hosting their first ever bike night on Saturday the 9th of June. The event kicks off at 5:00pm and will feature a live band - The Legionaires playing classic rock. Food will be available for purchase from the Couzins Grill portable food trailer. Ice cold adult beverages will be available as well. This event is open to the public.
