The Saginaw Chippewa Indian Tribe’s “Honoring Saganing Traditional Pow Wow” will be held:

 

Saturday, June 25th 11am-Dusk

Sunday, June 26th 11am-Dusk

 

Grand Entry at 1pm each day at the Pow Wow Reservation Grounds, next to Saganing Eagles Landing Casino & Hotel on Worth Road in Standish. Native traders and food vendors and rustic camping available. Daily entry $3, weekend pass $5, kids $1.

Tawas Band Bazaar

November 17th, 2018 at Tawas Area High School. 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. 44th Annual Tawas Band Bazaar and Craft Show. Over 100 Vendor tables. No admission fee. Freshly baked apple dumplings for sale or buy frozen to take home for later. 50/50 raffles every hour. Live music. Everything home made or hand crafted.

Alcona Knigts Fish Fry

Sanctuary Cinema Series

Mindjimendamowin is a short documentary film that highlights the journey of a young, contemporary Anishinaabe man in a birch bark canoe. Our young man follows the Old Shore Indian Trail (now US 23) carved out by his ancestors along the shores of Lake Huron. The film showcases the natural beauty of NE Michigan as well as educating the audience on the historical sites and oral stories along the route from Saginaw Bay to Mackinaw City. Mindjimendamowin uses poetry, storytelling, and music as well as traditional narration from Native American elders to tell this story.

Haunted Halloween Weekend

Harrisville State Park, U.S. 23, Harrisville will host their annual "Haunted Halloween Weekend" Friday, October 12th through Sunday, October 14th. Children's games, site decorating contest, trick or treating for campground guests, haunted hayride and spooky haunted trail. All events are free but a recreation passport is required to enter the park.

Bill Burr

Burr’s material delves into sports, the scourge of social media and more – all with a common thread of a “wickedly satirical” delivery. The comedian first gained notoriety for his recurring role on the second season of “Chappelle’s Show.” Burr’s acting profile skyrocketed after his appearance on AMC’s “Breaking Bad.” That break allowed Burr to add actor to his resume and receive other premium roles including a character in the film “Stand Up Guys” starring Academy Award winners, Al Pacino and Christopher Walkin. He has five stand-up specials, the most recent of which premiered on Netflix on January 31, 2017. Tickets can be purchased to see Burr on October 12th at Ticketmaster.com.
