Do You Dare????? - The Charter Township of Oscoda wants to know...do you dare enter "The Mortuary of Terror"?  You will be dared to enter the rear of the Aune Medical Center on the former Wurtsmith Air Force Base in Oscoda.  The Mortuary opens every Saturday night in October starting Oct. 6th with ticket sales starting at 7pm til 10pm, for $5 per ticket.  Sponsored by the Charter Township of Oscoda and Carroll Broadcasting.

Arts & Craft Show - Oscoda Lions Club will be holding their 18th Annual Fall Arts & Craft show.  The show will be held Saturday, Oct. 6th from 10am to 4pm at the Oscoda High School.  Come and enjoy all of the hand crafted items, over 85 vendors, Farm Market, Chain Saw Carver.  Adults $1.00 donation at the door, and children are free.  Lunch Available for Purchase.  If interested in a space the deadline is Oct. 6th. Harvest Festival - Rose Valley Winery will be hosting a "Harvest Festival", Saturday, Oct. 13th, at  12pm to 5pm, cost is $7 at the door.  There will be wine tasting, pig roast and a grape stomp.  Entertainment by Al Bondar & Diane Chamberlin.  There will also be a hay ride to the Pumpkin Bash.  So come on out and enjoy the changing colors and a good glass of wine.  For more info please call (989)685-9399.

 

Party of the Decades - Hospice of Helping Hands is hosting the "Party of the Decades", Saturday, Oct. 13th from 6pm to 10pm.  The party will take place at the Edwards Township Hall, 3601 Wickes Rd., West Branch.  There will be door prizes & 50/50 drawings, appetizers, desserts, and a cash bar.  Come and dance to the music with DJ Pete as "Wolfman Jack".  Tickets are $15 per person or $25 per couple.  Must be 18 years of age to attend.  Tickets are available at Hospice of Helping Hands, 322 W. Spooktacular Comedy Show - Iosco Arenac District Library will be hosting a "Spooktacular Comedy Show", with Joel Tacey.  The show will be at the Robert J. Parks Library in Oscoda, Wednesday, Oct. 17th at 5:30pm.  Show is for childres of all ages, there will be non-scary tricks, music and surprises, giveaways.  Costumes are encouraged.  Need answers? Harrisville State Park - BOOOOO!!! Watch out for the Ghosts and Goblins!!! They will be hanging out at the Harrisville State Park for the annual Haunted Halloween Weekend from Friday, Oct. 12th thru Sunday, Oct. 14th. Come and enjoy a frightfully fun outdoor experience.  Weekend activities include children's games, a site decorating contest, and trick-or-treating for the campground guests, a haunted hayride, and the spooky haunted trail.  So come and enjoy this outdoor haunted weekend on the beautiful shores of Lake Huron.  All events are free, but a current Recreation Passport is required to enter the state park.

Bazaar By The Bay - Tawas United Methodist Church will be holding their Annual Bazaar By The Bay & Craft Sale, Saturday, Oct. 20th from 9am to 2pm.  Lunch will be served from 11am to 1pm. There will be homemade pies, Apple, Cherry, or Blueberry for $10 each with the proceeds to benefit local school children.  So come and enjoy vendors, books, crafts, baked goods, holiday gifts, and Rada Cutlery, there's something for everyone!!!

 

Halloween 5K Fun Run/Walk - Walk, Run, Float, or Fly the Halloween 5K, Sunday, Oct. 21st with registration starting at noon and the ghoulish event starting at 1pm.  It will take place at the Tollfree Wellness Park behind the MidMichigan Medical Center.  There will be a 1 mile Goblin walk that is optional for the kids.  This is an untimed fun event for the whole family, Costumes are encouraged and prizes will be given for best costume.  Cost is $10 per adult and $5 per child or $20 for the whole family.  K9 runners are welcome with a $5 doggie registration.  Pre-register to receive a special "Treat' bag!  For more info please contact Pam Hilts at (989)745-4067.

 

Diamond Dotz Craft - Create "Night Glider" Halloween decoration with this amazing new craft using tiny faceted "Dotz" that shimmer and shine.  Using a stylus, you place the Dotz onto a chart and the result is a cute little bat silhouetted against a Halloween moon.  Tegistration is required and limited to 25 kids.  It will be held at the AuGres Community Library, Monday, Oct. 22nd at 3:30. Pop Up Art Gallery - Shelton Fund for the Arts will be holding a Pop Up Art Gallery, Saturday, Oct.27th from 10am to 4pm at the Historic Huron Shores Artisian Hall in downtown Oscoda.  So come on out and view, shop, and meet local artists of the Sunrise Side.
