The Tawas Area High School- will be doing a salute to the USA prior to the football game kickoff at 7pm Thursday. They are asking for 13 Veterans to assist in the program. Any interested Veteran should contact Ron Whitney, Iosco County Veterans Affairs Officer at 989-362-6571 for more information.

Hale American Legion Post #422- will hold a Community Western Hoedown Fundraiser Saturday, September 5th, 2-9pm, at the Post, 429 West Main Street.

The 2026 Rotary Rocket Contest Tawas vs. Oscoda- will take place Saturday, September 5th, 9am, depending on weather, at the Oscoda High School Soccer Complex on River Road. Guess who wins and how high the rocket will go.

The Tawas City Library Friends Book Sale will be held Saturday, September 12tth, 9am-Noon, at the Tawas City Library, 208 North Street, Tawas City. You pick the book, you pick the price. All proceeds support the Tawas City Library and its programs.
The Glennie Lions Annual Rifle Raffle- is going on now thru Saturday, November 28th. The ticket booth is open every Friday & Saturday next to Rogers Family Foods in Glennie or from any Glennie Lions Club member. KJC Country- Welcomes country singer John Berry to the Aplex in Alpena Friday, December 11th. Doors open at 6:30pm, show starts at 8pm.
